Breath of Heaven

Well, its definitely beginning to look a lot like Christmas here. We've done a lot of our Christmas activities. We began with taking around our neighbor gifts a week ago - I believe last I counted there were somewhere around 3 dozen. For family night a couple weeks ago we watched "The Nativity," put out by the church. We muted it and played the song "Breath of Heaven" by Amy Grant along with it. Its neat how it works great with the film. We played the song twice and our music prodigy, Jared had the tune down. I caught him humming it perfectly a couple days later. Interestingly enough, he attended some dancing performance at school that was "Christmas" related (imagine that in a public school) where the performers danced to that song. He thought it was great and came home singing it again. Its so fun to live where people aren't afraid of the forbidden phrase "Merry Christmas." I have to say though that it would still be nice to teach the kids about Hanukkah too (you don't hear about that here).

We've managed to make it to a couple light events. We took the kids to the Festival of Lights that Spanish Fork city puts on every year. Same old thing every year, but they love it. We also were able to see the lights at Thanksgiving Point again. Grandma and Grandpa Allen rented a trolley for all the family that was able to, to ride in and stay warm, while we enjoyed the scenery. Too bad once again the Mills family missed out because they had a stomach bug at their house. Unfortunately with them not coming, there were lots of vacant seats. So, not to waste the space, Mom suggested that we invite some of our friends to join us. We invited the Hurtados and the Walkers. We had a great time, singing Christmas Caroles and watching the lights. I think all the kids had fun. Note the cool blurry effects and lack of clarity in all 3 pictures thanks to our high quality camera. Its on the list, Santa.....

Believe it or not, we are still intending to send out our Christmas Newsletter. It was actually written several weeks ago, but between light shows, neighbor gifts, and planning classroom parties, it got put on the back burner. So we took several pictures of the kids before we got the right shot. Here is one of the rejects. The look on all 3 kids faces says it all, "Are we done YET?" Its hilarious!
