Ode To Gavin

So another Thanksgiving Day came and went. I love having Michael home. Its fun to spend extra time with him. The only thing I dislike is that when it comes to vacation time, a large chunk of it (more often than not), is spent trying to visit the extended family we don't get to see much, and not with our immediate, little family. I'm not sure how to win at this situation. We love all our family and do enjoy visiting with them, but sooner than you think its back to work and you almost need a vacation from your vacation - to catch up with your own kids.

Now, after that long and drawn out commentary.....back to Thanksgiving. It was still nice. This year we spent it with my side of the family. Michael's side of the family that's out here in Utah, all went out of state to celebrate. Kelly and Kirt came out from Blanding and stayed with Kenna. It was fun hanging out and playing games and hanging out some more. Jared made Pilgrim and Indian attire at school, which they donned at breakfast. After breakfast that morning, Gavin said his Pledge of Allegiance. He pretty much got it word for word with this modified ending "...and to the Republic, for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and 'Justice League' for all." (After all, he was Flash Gordon for Halloween). He's been on this American Justice League kick for awhile. Its the latest revival of the classic Marvel Comic superheroes. It was great! Scott just kicked and giggled, that is after he practically inhaled his cuisine of baby oatmeal cereal and applesauce!
Tonight Jared was asking Gavin who his girlfriend was. Gavin replied in an irritated tone "Mom." I apparently don't count in that department anymore because Jared's response to that was "No Gavin, I mean a girl from school." To which Gavin replied "um, Miss Heather." Miss Heather and Miss Denise are his 30 something teachers. Jared just laughed and said "Not Moms Gavin." Gavin stood his ground "Miss Heather, Jared!"

It was too Cute!!

Michael & Kari, Enjoyed reading what you are up to. I feel bad that we've not kept in better touch. Distance and time are huge factors - but not an excuse. Glad to hear that your family is doing well, and are healthy and happy.
Have a Merry Christmas! Love, The Peless family.

Kari-Fun blog babe! You need to put more pics up! Do you have picasa from Google? It is a great program (free) to use to organize your pics and see them easily and then it's really easy to blog them straight out of there. Anyway, thanks for the invite...it's fun to catch up! We need to get Will and Jared together again (too bad the 'sick' season is on us- good luck to us finding time when both of us have healthy kids) :)
