Hangin' With The Hilbigs: Three of Them, Anyway

A couple weeks ago we gave our cousins a phone call to see if they wanted to join us for an excursion at the zoo. I thought we better put our recently obtained zoo pass to good use! So, the pictures will be boring for all our non-family blog followers, but it's fun for us! It was a little different going without Jared. Maren (Michael's sister) was short one of her kids too (Amelie). So the group was a little smaller than normal. Here's a shot of the younger cousins. Scott, Gabrielle, Gavin and Josh. This time we actually spent lots of time visiting all the animals. Gavin made a friend, a cocatoo, just outside the bird building. It was funny. He started making noises at it and it started talking to him. Each time he'd start saying something else, the bird would jabber right back at him!

We also made our way over to the carousel, instead of the train this time. It's not easy to get a picture of more than one child on a carousel, so here's my attempt:

I had to laugh that we go all the way over to the zoo and Gavin's primary request: to see the "fake" elephant. They have a huge elephant sculpture that's a water feature of sorts. When you push the button it sings "All Around The Mulberry Bush" and at the end when it gets to the "Pop goes the Weasel" line, it sneezes water at you. Gavin absolutely loves it, but I think his cousin Gabby thought something else. She started to panic when it made sneezing noises - so sad. So, I was lucky to get this picture. Hence, the not so happy faces in this shot.

All in all, it was another fun trip. Unfortunately, Jared was quite jealous when Gavin was all too anxious to tell him about the day's adventures. We'll have to make another visit soon, when we can all go!
